Time Magazine, article
Looking through this weeks Time Magazine, I was surprised to see one of my concepts inside. This was a project I worked on with Astro Studios for Herman Miller.

We were thinking about a new generation of office workspace encorperating the latest technology and materials. Getting away form the 'cubicle', we proposed a range of concepts addressing a better workspace for employees.

Boom Back - final thought
This piece is more aimed for Burning Man, being the final thought for the evening. The speakers are straped to ones back, like a backpack. The front of the pack would contain a 5"x6" touch screen display whereby the wearer can control the tunes from his chest. The display would conveniently fold down so wearer could see and work display. All cords would be stowed in the straps so cord management wouldn't be a problem. Also, the operator could wear headphones and flip down eye visor for mixing convenience.

Imagine if 6 or more people were wearing such a device, they would be the party sound system.

Boom Bag
As can be seen from these sketches, its looking like its going to be wearable. If the boom box was somehow integrated with a handbag, then one could put their music (iPods etc) in their 'Boom Bag' with them. Integrating player controls on the strap make for easier navigatoin of music equipement for wearer. Bottom right: f*** carrying everything, one can drag or push all that portable music system with them. A boom box cart, like a piece of Samsung Luggage! Yeah Baby.

Boom Bag
A couple of weekends ago I was suitably inspired by the music to create some boom boxes. Related to this I was thinking about the forthcoming BurningMan, and was thinking about how to carry some serious tunes around with me. This is the thinking as it happens. First slow, then some ideas start to formulate. This process can be seen in this series.

EL wire on footwear
An idea I have had for a while, only just now showing the public. Put on electroluminescent wiring in place of piping for a much more dramatic effect. It's only a matter of time befor this EL wire takes off BIG TIME! The first time I saw this stuff was in Black Rock City, two years ago.

Just another evening
A range of car sketches I did in the evening for fun while listening to some bad ass tunes for inspiration. Instead of watching TV, I prefer to trip out on my own. With the two right hand sketches I was thinking Cadillac with lights hidden in the grill. For the left sketch, I was thinking about retro 50s roundness with modern elements.

Simultaniously working with exterior and interior, we are trying to tie the two together for a seamless transition.

Working out floorplans with Illustrator. This software allows quick and dirty planning and design with quick modifications for that ongoing thinking process. We flit between sketching and Illustrator to achieve the desired design criteria.
